In Just Four (4) Weeks of Completing Our Small Business Certification Program

Our Small Business Certification assists entrepreneurs reach their potential through a simple four week process. Each week, an assigned Financial Literacy Educator will teach (in-person or on-line) the Educational Topic of the week and assist you in implementing what you've learned.

Incorporating award-winning curriculum developed by the FDIC and promoted by the SBA, our non-profit partner was exclusively selected to administer this four week program that incorporates weekly lessons that are essential topics needed for accessing capital and then assistance applying that new knowledge to your business.

WEEK ONE: BUSINESS PLANNING

Small Business Certification Module 1

Implementation Step: Create a lender-compliant business plan with financial projections using an easy-to-use, state-of-the-art, cloud-based platform.

WEEK TWO: BUSINESS CREDIT

Small Business Certification Module 2

Implementation Step: Develop an optimized Personal Financial Statement and credit profiles for optimization (including the creation of a strong business credit profile, i.e. Dun & Bradstreet PAYDEX score allowing the business to access credit under the EIN versus SSN of the owner(s)).

WEEK THREE: FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

Implementation Step: Complete a Financial Needs Analysis and establish a long-term financial plan.

WEEK FOUR: BANKING & MONEY

Small Business Certification Module 4

Implementation Step: Finalize your lender-compliant loan package and create a "Capital Match" to identify the best source(s) of capital based upon each participant's unique circumstances. Examples of available capital include affordable SBA loans, investment capital (money that doesn't have to be paid back like loans do), the Opportunity Fund, numerous specialized loan programs (some detailed in this lesson) and hundreds of other options.

THE EXPECTED OUTCOMES

Every Participant is Rewarded at the End of the 30-Day Program

  1. Certificate of Completion acknowledging their diligence and new knowledge.
     

  2. Lender/Investor-Compliant Business Plan* package for both internal use and, if desired, to access funding.
     

  3. Improved Knowledge and Access to Capital resulting in a more profitable and better positioned business, i.e. stronger Dun & Bradstreet PAYDEX score, improved bank rating, funding needed to start/grow a business, etc.
     

  4. An optimized Personal Financial Statement (PFS).
     

  5. Improved Business Credit Profile, i.e., improved Dun & Bradstreet PAYDEX score.
     

  6. Financial Needs Analysis (FNA) and corresponding financial plan.
     

  7. A lender/investor-compliant set of interim financial statements including Income Statement (Profit/Loss), Balance Sheet, and Statement of Cash Flows.
     

  8. A "Capital Match" identifying the best source(s) of capital based upon the participant's unique circumstances. With a lender-compliant loan package and the Capital Match, ideally, you’ll be ready to go to funding!

Business plan includes a one page "pitch sheet", executive summary, opportunity description (problem, solution, target market, competitive analysis), execution plan (marketing plan, sales plan, operations plan, key milestones), company information (ownership team, management bios, advisors), financial plan (key assumptions, revenue, expenses, profitability, use of funds, source of funds), financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement), industry specific benchmarking, etc. We can also link your accounting software, like QuickBooks, to create and maintain a virtual dashboard as an on-going management tool.
